Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and creative Marketing and Social Media Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about digital marketing, social media trends, and content creation. This role will involve supporting our in house marketing team in executing various campaigns across multiple platforms.

Responsibilities:

Social Media Management:
  • Create, implement, and schedule social media campaigns across Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, other social media accounts, email, and VETS’ website, where timeline is agreed upon by the marketing team lead.
  • Create social media campaigns within the prescribed timeline.
  • Make necessary and timely edits to the campaigns as directed.
  • Provide social media components adhering to the VETS tone and brand.
  • Engage in regular interaction with online communities as requested.
Marketing:
  • Content development support and creation of posts.
  • Create and organize detailed campaign performance reports with critical metrics, findings, and optimization recommendations.
  • Manage company and client marketing platforms and troubleshoot issues as needed.
  • Support with research on social media posts and newsletter content.
Special Events:
  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of event marketing initiatives, including conferences, webinars, and other promotional events.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop creative event marketing materials, including invitations, banners, brochures, and digital assets.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in a marketing or related role
  • Proficient (or willing to learn quickly) Canva, HubSpot, Monday.com, Slack, Google Docs and Ads, Grammarly, and ChatGPT.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to use data to inform decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills with the ability to proactively track results, tasks, priorities, deliverables, etc.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
  • Familiarity with marketing campaigns and advertising strategies.

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with or willingness to swiftly grasp insights about the military and veteran community is essential.
  • Ability to adapt communication about the military and veteran community in alignment with VETS' unique perspective and needs.
  • Willingness to learn and engage actively to bridge the gap between typical perceptions and the realities of the military and veteran community.
  • Capacity to represent VETS with authenticity and respect while communicating with various stakeholders within an online presence.

Compensation and Committment

Competitive pay commensurate with experience. Willingness to work a minimum of 25 hours per week, with the potential of full-time hours.
