Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented Graphic Designer to join our team at VETS. As a Graphic Designer, you will play a crucial role in visually communicating our mission, initiatives, and impact to various stakeholders. You will collaborate closely with our marketing and communications team to create compelling designs for both digital and print mediums, ensuring consistency in our brand identity and messaging across all platforms. Your creativity and expertise will help us effectively engage with our audience, raise awareness, and drive support for our cause.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Graphic Design: Create visually appealing and innovative designs for both digital and print mediums, including social media graphics, webpages, and various marketing materials.
  • Campaigns: Design graphics and versionable templates for social media campaigns, webpages, one-pagers, events, conferences, reports, external outreach, and more. 
  • Brand Identity: Ensure consistency with VETS’ visual identity, including color schemes, typography, and overall design guidelines across all platforms and materials.
  • Digital Content: Design eye-catching, and innovative visuals for online platforms, including website graphics, email templates, digital ads, and social media content, to drive engagement and conversions.
  • Illustrations: Develop original illustrations and icons that complement VETS’ messaging and enhance user experience.
  • Photography and Image Editing: Enhance product and lifestyle photographs, ensuring they align with VETS’ aesthetic and are suitable for promotional use.
  • Creative Conceptualization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to brainstorm and contribute innovative ideas for marketing campaigns and product launches.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality work within agreed-upon time frames.
  • Feedback and Iteration: Accept feedback gracefully and iterate on designs, striving for continuous improvement in design quality.
  • Industry Research: Stay up-to-date with design trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices to incorporate fresh ideas into the design process.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or related field.
  • Proven Experience: Minimum of 5-8 years experience in graphic design or visual design.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in industry-standard graphic design software such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Creativity and Artistry: A passion for design and a keen eye for aesthetics, color theory, and layout composition.
  • Branding Knowledge: Understanding of brand identity, storytelling, and the ability to translate brand guidelines into impactful visual designs to support our mission.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas and collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities, collaborating with different stakeholders and flexibility to work across a range of editing styles.
  • Multitasking: Manage multiple tasks concurrently and thrive in a fast-paced environment, adept at working under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and a commitment to delivering high-quality design work.
  • Team Player: A collaborative attitude, with the willingness to give and receive feedback constructively.
Commitment:

This position is for an independent contractor and involves part-time or ad-hoc project-based work.

Fully remote, US based only.
